Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi met with his counterparts from the European Union on Tuesday on the sidelines of the 9th Foreign Ministers' Meeting of the Asia-Europe Meeting.
Yang met with Luxembourg Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn, European Commissioner for External Relations Benita Ferrero Waldner, and a representative of his British counterpart on Tuesday.
In the meetings, Yang said China and European countries should enhance political dialogue and political mutual trust and implement consensus reached at the G20 meeting to advance pragmatic cooperation between the two sides.
The European side said the European Union is committed to enhancing mutual understanding and cooperation with China in all fields, and strengthening coordination and exchanges with China in dealing with regional and international issues.
Yang also met with his counterparts from Poland and the Republic of Korea on the sidelines of the meeting.
